First of all, allow me to introduce myself: my name is Paula Alarcón Amador, and I am a student at IES Federico García Lorca, where I am pursuing a Middle Degree in Marketing and Commercial Activities. Over the past three months, I’ve had the opportunity to carry out my training internship at an Oxfam store — an organization dedicated to selling donated items such as clothing, footwear, books, and other products for charitable purposes.
This experience has undoubtedly been a time of great personal and professional growth. I’ve learned to understand the real inner workings of a retail business, facing everyday situations — and others I never imagined I would experience. Every day has brought a new challenge, and with each one, I’ve acquired skills that will be useful in my future career.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to IES Federico García Lorca and the entire teaching staff for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to be part of this training experience. I also want to thank the Erasmus+ program for offering me this unique opportunity to learn abroad. It has not only allowed me to grow professionally, but also to significantly improve my English and adapt to a new cultural environment.
One valuable lesson I take from this experience is this: we should never be afraid to pursue what we’ve always dreamed of, no matter how distant or rushed it may seem. Everything we experience outside our comfort zone contributes, teaches, and transforms us.
See you soon in Spain.
